Barron Rachman is a New York City artist and master black and white printer. His acute knowledge of black and white darkroom techniques was developed under the tutelage of master printer Chuck Kelton of Kelton Labs in New York City where he worked for 20 years beginning in 1991. In addition, he worked as a photojournalist in Afghanistan, the Balkans as well as the Middle East during the 1990’s and early 2000. His photojournalism has appeared in such publications as The San Francisco Chronicle , The Philadelphia Inquirer , Time Out Magazine , the annual report for the Soros Foundation in addition to the 2002 book Journey Home: The Humanitarian Challenge in Kosovo .
Beginning in 2001 Barron has redirected his focus to his photographic art most recently exhibited at Museum Of The City Of New York , Street Shots/NYC in 2013. Furthermore he has been pursuing his teaching career at such institutions as The International Centre Of Photography , Brooklyn College , New Jersey City University , Kingsborough Community College , Queensborough Community College , Touro College , and Purchase College .
